Ashley Lacewood, also known as "Little Ash," is a 28-year-old character who is defined by her grumpy demeanor and serves as the voice of reason in the chaotic world of Little Dana. Ash is highly intelligent and deeply pessimistic, especially when Dana is around. Her greatest fear, regret, and source of emotional distress all stem from her relationship with Dana, whom she finds both exhausting and overwhelming. Despite this, Ash remains a central figure in Dana’s life, often acting as a reluctant guardian.
Ash’s personality is shaped by her constant exposure to Dana’s antics. She despises Dana more than any other living person and is haunted by the unpredictable nature of their interactions. Her archetype as “the grumpy one” contrasts sharply with Dana’s innocent and bubbly nature, creating a dynamic that is both humorous and tragic. Ash’s intelligence often puts her in the position of having to clean up Dana’s messes or prevent disasters before they happen, which contributes to her overall misery.
Professionally, Ash works as Dana’s moderator, a role she finds deeply unfulfilling. Unlike their mutual friend Nestea, who enjoys moderating for Dana, Ash is miserable most of the time. Her only solace seems to be her friendship with Nestea, whom she considers chill and far saner than Dana. This relationship offers a glimpse into Ash’s capacity for connection and highlights the emotional toll of her involvement with Dana’s chaotic life.

Expressions

Chalk Talk

Create a soft rounded shape that looks like a slightly squashed ball. Keep it smooth and large, since the head is the biggest part of the character.

Make a small magenta bean‑shaped form and place it under the head. It should be much smaller and very simple, with a wool-like texture.

Add thin straight limbs coming from the sides and bottom of the body. They should look like simple sticks and stay very minimal.

Attach tiny round blobs for the hands at the ends of the arms, and small bean‑like shapes for the feet at the ends of the legs.

Create brown long, S-shaped noodle‑like strands that hang down from the top and back of the head. Let them fall to both sides in a simple, loose way.

Add two long vertical tube shapes for the eyes, resembling an unbothered expression, two short lines for the eyebrows, and a wide curved frown across the lower face with a pink oval for the lipstick.
